Match Report
This was the last match of the season . Gary won the match with 24 lb. of Carp on the method feeder. Jason Willie came second with 17lb. - 3oz. and Darkie was 3rd with 13lb.-10oz. The match was fished in aweful weather conditions and a big well done must go to everyone who fished to the bitter end

What a match!! Ray Hill caught so many fish that he didn't even have time to drink all of his beer. He broke the clubs 6 hour match record weighing in a staggering 95lb.-13oz. He caught on the method feeder using homemade groundbait. Lucky for us he ran out of it with an hour to go. Gary Mitchell also had a good day with 85lb.-13oz. and Keith Huggins was 3rd with just over 60lb
Mitchell Cup Final
Congratulations to Debbie Boyce on winning the 2007 Mitchell cup competition. She used every last pheromone she had to knock out all us lads. Darkie did well to become her last victim,reaching the final for the third year on the trot,but on the day Deb simply out fished him. When asked afterwards what went wrong Darkie said "I fished like a tit". Deb weighed in 26lb.-5oz. on the method feeder and Darkie 15lb.-6oz.on the pole and pellet feeder. The club now has a new rule.NO MORE BLOODY WOMEN!

Match Report
Leggats lake fished hard after the first few frosts of the year. Mac did well to extend his lead in the league by taking a mixed bag for 31lb.-11oz. He fished a feeder to the island. Jason Willie on the opposite bank came a close 2nd with 28lb -5oz. followed by Colin Temple with 24lb.-2oz. UNFORTUNATELY 7 of our adult anglers were beaten by the 2 juniors who fished(one of whom was only 4 years old and only fished for 2 hours). Still,that's fishing eh gang! Well done to Paige Bridle for winning the junior match with 1lb.-9oz. Congratulations to Debbie Boyce on her shiny new box

Keith Huggins did well to win this match on a day when the fish didn't want to feed. He fished a method feeder in several pegs(allegedly) and took Carp to over twelve pounds for a total weight of 33lb.-12 oz. Trevor Burgess and Danny Gilson both fished brilliantly to take 2nd and 3rd respectively. It was a good turnout with 24 anglers taking part. Kelly Clayton did well to weigh in 1oz. in her first match which was enough to beat 3 of the lads. John Powell,aka.Niff Noff found a novel use for a post office pouch in his first match. Unfortunately for John, i don't think the fish were speaking his language on the day and he drew a blank. Niff Noff has declined to have he's picture taken for chump of the month, because he could be in breach of contract to Woolworth's for supplying he's tackle. Simon Clayton was unlucky as he was knocked out of the Mitchell Cup by Colin Temple

Keith Huggins did well to win this match on a day that the fish played hard to get.He had a mixed bag for 28-10 on pellet and worm close in. Don Fielding fished brilliantly to gain second place with 22-9 and Mac was in 3rd with 20-9.Darkie should get a mention as he fished cat meat all day and didn't see a single pussy. Gary should also get a mention as he fished like one

This was a new venue for us that was suggested by Matt. Bridle.It was an unusual fishery in that it had very few Carp in it which meant that the only way to win was to catch lots of small fish.On the day Gary took top spot with a mixed bag of 17-6 caught mainly on caster and hemp. Mac. was in second spot after managing to catch a couple of the elusive Carp plus silvers to weigh in 15-10 and Darkie was 3rd with a mixed bag weighing 12-1

Thanks to the coach turning up nearly an hour late to pick us up the match had to be shortened by 30 minutes.This didn't stop Roger Apps and his partner Dave Neale from weighing in a combined weight of 70 lb - 7oz. Darkie and Kezza were 2nd with 48lb - 6 oz. A great day seemed to be had by all with the usual banter bouncing around the lake.The highlight was when Stu Roddick got smacked on the arse by a high speed pole float after bottoming out his elastic on a snag. John West was left feeling gutted after losing a massive fish. Simon Clayton has booked an appointment with RELATE after losing his partner Kelly's biggest fish of the day. I think Simon should stay at home and do the house work while Kelly does the fishing.

Congratulations must go to Roger Apps for winning this years Jeff. Lincoln Memorial trophy.He fished a brilliant match catching 56lb. - 15oz.ssed out by mainly on corn.It was a real battle between Roger and Colin Temple but Colin missed out by just 1lb.- 5oz. in the end.Merv Willie continued his good run of form to come 3rd with 47lb. - 4oz.A big well done must go to Simon Clayton who gave Matt. Bridle a hiding and knocked him out of the Mitchell Cup. Also well done to Trevor Burgess,Don Fielding,Colin Temple,Darkie,Geoff.Ingram,Ray Hill,Kipper and Roger Apps on getting through also

Merv Willie did brilliantly to win this match with a mixed bag weighing 20lb. 2oz taken mainly on worm. He must have had his Weetabix as he fished at 13 meters while the rest of us on his bank struggled with 5 meters in the strong winds. Ray Temple did well to come 2nd after a nightmare start where he did several laps of the lake before he found his peg. He took 14lb. 13oz. also mainly on worm. Roger Apps was 3rd with 9lb. 8oz We must also mention Darkie who had a nightmare of a match, everything that could go wrong, DID!! Deb also deserves a mention as she managed to spear her BRAND NEW luggage with a bank stick and also Stu Roddick who had his cupping kit shortened permanently by his helpful little mates. It was April fools day after all!!!!
