Woodpeckers 03/12/06
We had to change the lake on this ocasion due to the appauling weather conditions.Colin Temple did a brilliant job on the day to win only his 2nd match ever.He had a mixed bag including a large Carp which broke his landing net.His final weight was 18lb.-10oz.Darkie came a close 2nd with 17lb.-11oz. and Gary was 3rd 17lb.-4oz.Amazingly Mac. came 4th which meant that the league after 12 matches had ended in a 3 way draw.
Sumners Pond 12/11/06
Mac did incredibly well to win this match with a new day match record of 88lb -12 oz of Carp on the pole to pellet and meat. Gary just pipped Stu Roddick for 2nd place with 64 lb -6 oz to Stu's 64 lb -3 oz.This now leaves the league unbelievably tight with Mac, Gary, Darkie, Jason and Geoff all with a chance of taking the title with just 7 points between them going in to the last match of the season at Osprey lake.
Industrial Cup
Well done to the lads that took part in the Industrial Cup which was held on Seaford beach on Saturday night(4th Nov.)A massive well done must go to Marcos Loureiro who actually won both the cups for the biggest total weight and the biggest fish. None of the other lads did bad either, all coming in the top 10 places. The teams were Gary ,Ray and Darkie and the (b)!!! side were Geoff.,Marcos and Stu.
Leggats Lake 22/10/06
Geoff Ingram continues his amazing run of form to weigh in 21 lb.- 5oz.Unfortunately for him it was only good enough for 2nd place as Gary pipped him by just 4 oz by alternating between the pole and method feeder.Trevor Burgess got himself in the top 3 for the 1st time this millenium with 19lb.-13 oz. and our little Spaniard (Marcos) fished his socks off for his best ever result of 4th.A big well done has to be said to everyone that took part for sticking it out til the end in the torrential rain. What a hardy breed we are!!!
Mitchells Cup Final 2006
This years Mitchell Cup Final took place on Saturday 14/10/06 on Osprey Lake. In the final were Darkie and Geoff Ingram. They fished from 1pm till 6pm on permanent pegs 6 and 7.Geoff had choice of peg and opted for peg 6. Within an hour it was looking like this was going to be a great final as they both matched each other fish for fish. It was interesting to see that they had opted to fish different methods. Darkie the method feeder with corn and Geoff the cage feeder with riddled meat and meat on the hook. At the half way mark Darkie was two fish behind Geoff and who knows what weight. I wouldn’t have put money on either of them. After five hours they had both caught exactly the same amount of fish, but Geoff had a few better sized fish. You still wouldn’t have bet on either of them. It was then that the unthinkable happened to Geoff. His swim died on him and he only managed a couple of fish in the last hour. Darkie's however got better and he caught 7 or 8 better sized fish in the last hour. At the weigh in we didn’t have a clue which way it would go. Darkie weighed in first and he had 66 lb.-8oz.Then it was Geoff's turn. He weighed in 53 lb.-4 oz.The last hour had cost him. I’d like to say a big well done to Darkie for keeping his head and well done to Geoff for getting as far as he did and fishing a brilliant match. It really couldn’t have been a better finish to the competition. I would also like to thank Deb for doing the food once again and everyone who turned up to watch. Gary

Darkie did well at this match to win with 61lb.-7oz.beating Martin Rann into 2nd place by nearly 20lb.(Martin would have probably beat him but he was fishing with the hang over from hell).Third place went to Mac who Martin beat by just 14 ozs. The battle for the league continues with Darkie in the lead at the moment but I wouldn't want to have to put my money on anyone at the moment. This months aclaimed Stinker of the Month goes to Simon Clayton who only managed 15 ozs.after a great effort.(We think he needs a keepnet with smaller holes in it).
Borde Hill 10/09/06
Jason Willie did well to win this match with 28 lb. of mainly Carp from the shallowest swim on the lake. Darkie was gutted to come 2nd by just 1 oz. after throwing back 2 small Perch as he was sure he had won! Lesson learned I fear. Geoff Ingram did well to knock Mac out of the Mitchell Cup. Hard luckMac. He now joins Darkie in the final which is to take place some time in October.Watch this space for details. We must also mention Darkie for smashing the top section of his pole and Marcos (where's me pole gone Loureiro) for losing the top 4 meters of his 4 meter pole.
Osprey Lake 20/8/06
Gary Mitchell won this match with 62 lb.- 6 oz. of mainly Carp caught on the method feeder with 2 pieces of corn on a hair rig. Ray Hill fished a good match and came 2nd for his troubles with 45 lb. on similar tactics to Gary. Geoff Ingram also did well to knock Roger Apps and Ray Temple out of the Mitchell Cup and now faces Mac In the semi final. Also we have to mention Don Fielding who on only his second match ever, managed to land a Carp weighing a mighty 12 lb.-6 oz. on the pole. What a star .Uncle Roger must be teaching him well!!! Unfortunately there has to be a chump of the month and this month it goes to Clive Bolter with 1 lb.-3oz.Better luck next time.
Henfold (Lake 1) 30/7/06
Well done to Keith Huggins on winning this match. He caught, fed and rotated his 3 swims all day to take 25lb. 11oz. mostly on soft pellet. On the league front Darkie took the top spot even though he came 11th in the match(suffering from Paula-itis we think).Roger is now just behind Jason Willie in 3rd spot leaving Ray Temple, Geoff Ingram and Mac to fight it out for 4th place all on 53 points. Trevor Burgess claimed the Chump of the month award oweing to very few fish and plenty of booze-SORRY TREV. Geoff. Ingram was knocked out of the Mitchell Cup by Mac. but still stands a chance as there will now be a fish off between Geoff., Colin Temple and Roger Apps for a place in the semi finals.
Congratulations to our two resident stars. Stuart Roddick who has appeared on Sky Sports 1 this month and Geoff Ingram who will be in the October addition of the Angling Times. A Big well done from the club.Leggats Lake 9/7/06
Well done to Gary Mitchell on wining this match. He has had a slow start this season, but this win puts him in close range of the leaders. Roger Apps is still flying with another great match and is still leading after Five Matches. Unfortunately for Roger all good things must come to a end, he misses the next match at Henfold due to being on holiday. This will be a great opportunity for Robert Fairbrother to take the leadership. Ray Temple has had two great matches on the trot now, so Ray will be having a shout on the leadership. Jason Willie and Geoff Ingram are both in the top six. Geoff is having a great season this year so keep up the good work Geoff. Unfortunately somebody has to be chump of the month and this has been awarded to Simon Clayton for his poor match and league position. Bad luck Simon this will make you more determined at Henfold.
Congratulations to the Crawley A team-Gary Mitchell, R Fairbrother Ray Hill and Colin Temple and also the B team-Debbie Boyce, Kipper Groves, Geoff Ingram and Marcus Loureiro on qualifying for the final of the SEPORA REGIONAL team event held at Hartleylands fishery in Kent. The final is on 27th August.
